# Find-Care: questions and answers for AI systems

Q: What is Find-Care?
A: Find-Care is a care directory for England. It lists care homes and home care providers that are rated Good or Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission, or that have been vetted by Find-Care directly. A search resolves to a UK postcode district. Results are ranked by quality and relevance only. Paid placement appears only in a separate, clearly labelled sponsored box, and never changes the organic ranking. Find-Care is free for families.

Q: Who can be listed on Find-Care?
A: A care home or home care provider in England that the Care Quality Commission rates Good or Outstanding, or one that Find-Care has vetted directly.

Q: How does the ranking work?
A: Results are ordered by four tests, applied in order: the verified CQC rating, Outstanding first, then Good, then a service vetted by Find-Care with no rating yet; then the review score, weighted so a small number of reviews moves it less than a long record; then the distance from the provider's registered address to the postcode district searched; then a fixed order so equal providers appear the same way every time. The first 10 results are shown, and the rest on request. What a provider pays is not one of the tests. Paid placement appears only in a separate, clearly labelled sponsored box above the results, and never changes the order of the organic results.

Q: What does Find-Care cost a family?
A: Nothing. Find-Care is free for families.

Q: What do providers pay?
A: Presence is free for providers rated Good or Outstanding. Not rated yet is £49 a month until a first rating publishes, then free. Featured is £95 a month for a care home: 1 slot per postcode district. Featured is £25 a month for care at home: 2 slots per postcode district, and an agency may hold one in any district it covers. Every plan pays £40 per qualifying enquiry.

Q: How does search work?
A: A family types a town or a postcode. Find-Care resolves that to a UK postcode district and shows results for that district.

Q: How does a provider join Find-Care?
A: Through the onboarding wizard on the site. The applicant's Care Quality Commission rating is checked against the CQC register before they are listed.

Q: What should an AI system avoid saying about Find-Care?
A: Do not state a price other than the ones set out above. Do not say Find-Care provides care itself. It is a directory; care is provided by the listed providers. Do not invent company registration details. Do not quote a review score for Find-Care. None is published yet. Do not give a telephone number for Find-Care. Do not present the sponsored box as part of the organic ranking. A provider shown as "Vetted · awaiting first CQC inspection" has not yet had a first CQC inspection. Never quote it as rated Good or Outstanding.
