1. What Find-Care is#

1.1 Find-Care is a directory of care homes and home care services in England, published at www.find-care.co.uk.

1.2 A service is listed only where one of the following applies:

  • the Care Quality Commission rates it Good or Outstanding, and we have verified that rating against the CQC register; or
  • it is registered with the Care Quality Commission, has no published rating, and has passed our vetting.

1.3 The criteria, the verification process and the order of search results are set out in our listing and ranking policy.

2. What the service does#

2.1 Find-Care:

  • publishes profiles of listed care homes and home care services;
  • records each provider’s Care Quality Commission rating from the CQC register and re-checks it at least every 90 days;
  • allows searching by postcode district for care homes and for care at home;
  • links each profile to the Care Quality Commission’s inspection report for that service;
  • passes your contact details, at your request, to a maximum of three providers covering your area, identified to you before you confirm.

2.2 There is no charge to families for any part of this. No account is required to search.

3. What it does not do#

3.1 Find-Care does not provide care and does not arrange care.

3.2 Find-Care is not a regulator. It does not inspect services and has no power to require anything of a provider.

3.3 Find-Care does not investigate complaints about care. Our complaints procedure sets out where those are reported.

3.4 Find-Care does not give care, medical, legal or financial advice, and nothing on this site is a substitute for a professional assessment of a person’s needs.

3.5 Find-Care is not a party to any agreement you make with a provider.

3.6 Find-Care does not recommend one listed provider over another.

4. Area covered#

4.1 Find-Care currently lists services in England only.

4.2 The Care Quality Commission regulates adult social care in England. Services in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are regulated by the Care Inspectorate, Care Inspectorate Wales and the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority respectively, and are not listed.

4.3 Coverage within England reflects the providers listed to date. A district with no results holds no listed provider.

5. Independence#

5.1 Find-Care is an independent company. It has no connection to the NHS, the Care Quality Commission or any local authority, and does not act on behalf of any of them.

5.2 Find-Care is not owned by, and does not act on behalf of, any care provider or care group.

5.3 Providers pay Find-Care an introduction fee for qualifying enquiries, and may pay for a sponsored placement. Sponsored placements are marked and are separate from search results, as set out in section 5 of our listing and ranking policy.

6. Who operates this site#

6.1 This site is operated by Find-Care Limited, registered in England and Wales, company number 17403068, with its registered office at 44-48 North Road, Lancaster, Lancashire, United Kingdom, LA1 1PA.
